Road Trip America's Oldest Trees

Trees are essential for life. They are a rich resource that give us oxygen, store carbon, provide shade, and stabilize soil.  But trees also support animal life, provide building materials, and some also possess medicinal properties.  It is time to love the trees and find ways to protect them and create new space for them. Your individual efforts matter!  Every person can make a difference.

The Old-Growth Forest Network is America’s only national network of protected, old-growth, native forests.  They are passionate about preserving woodlands where people of all generations can experience biodiversity and the beauty of nature.

Local tree preservation organizations like Trees Atlanta can be found across the country.  Trees Atlanta is dedicated to protecting Atlanta’s urban forest through planting, conservation, and education. With assistance from volunteers, this organization helps prevent tree loss, protect forests in the metro Atlanta area, and creates new green space. It has grown to become one of Atlanta’s most widely supported non-profit organizations.  Search online to find local tree protectors near you!
