Shredded Zucchini is the secret ingredient that makes these turkey burgers so juicy and flavorful. Add a few simple seasonings, and you may have just made the perfect turkey burger. We won’t tell if you don’t!

Servings: Makes 4 burgers

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey
  • One small zucchini or half of a large one shredded
  • Dash of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix all the ingredients together until just combined. Don’t handle the mixture too much, or the burgers will become tough.  Form four burger patties.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add burger patties to the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  4. Flip the burgers and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  5. Turn the heat down to low, cover the skillet, and cook for 3 more minutes. This helps to retain the juices and ensure the burgers are cooked through.
  6. Use a food thermometer to determine when the burgers are cooked. The temperature should read 165 degrees.
  7. Serve with or without a bun.

Serving suggestion:  These turkey burgers are delicious with a thick slice of ripe tomato and Thousand Island dressing.  Serve with a salad and a side of vegetables to really green your meal!
