This is it! The Holiday shopping guide you need to buy the best gifts from the coolest companies that make a positive impact on people and the planet.  Shopping for gifts this Holiday season is even more rewarding when you buy from companies dedicated to doing good in our world.  There are more than 3,600 companies that are now Certified B-Corporations and numerous more categorized as social enterprises.  Both types of businesses have made it core to their missions to conduct their businesses in ways that make a positive  impact on people and the environment.

If you would like to learn more about these types of companies, please read our blog, Social Enterprises and B-Corporations Make a Difference, and our blog, Shopping to Make a Difference

To help you explore these companies and your gift-buying options we have selected a few standout options in the apparel and gear category. There are many more quality companies than appear on our list but, hopefully, this will get you started shopping to make a difference.

Shop for Apparel and Gear at these Certified B-Corporations:

Topping the cool and unique apparel items is Dhana Inc.’s Circular Memory Jacket customized with your own upcycled clothing or Dhana’s vintage clothing. The jacket is designed for zero waste and made with textiles previously destined for landfills. We think it’s a creative way to wear your memories or fandom.  Made in Columbis, Ohio, the jacket is not inexpensive ($450 and $370, respectively).  It takes 4-6 weeks to produce so you may want to opt for a gift card to meet your Holiday gift deadline.

Patagonia Works is another standout on our list.  Patagonia became one of California’s first B-Corporations (benefits corporation) in 2012. It is a leading brand of outdoor apparel and gear. While you may be familiar with their high-quality fleece jackets and duffle bags, you may not be as aware of their Worn Wear. Now you can purchase gently-used Patagonia clothing and recrafted clothing that is even kinder to the planet.
